The III World Social Forum on Migrationsis a space of social participation with volunteers in its organization and celebration

The collaboration of volunteers will be divided into the following blocks:

Block I
Organization before the event: during the months before the Forum volunteers can participate in the preparation of the event. This can either be done by being present at the office of the Forum in Rivas Vaciamadrid or by helping out translating as well as other virtual activities.

Block II
Participation during the WSFM 2008: During the three days of the meeting the volunteers will carry out activities such as the reception of participants, information distribution and accreditations, the appointment of spaces, general guidance and the assisting of the organization of the workshops, seminars, conferences and cultural acts.

Block III
Interpreters: due to the presence of participations from over 50 countries the collaboration of volunteers with professional cabin interpreter experience is essential. Principally these will concern the languages English and French.

Block IV
Cultural activities: the conferences and workshops will be accompanied by a variety of cultural programs. Volunteers will be able to participate in the organization of concerts, expositions and street activities which will take place several days before the Forum.


Requisites

  • Be older than 18 years old
  • Participate in the training sessions planned on the Saturday 6th of September 2008 in Rivas Vaciamadrid.
  • A commitment of at least half a day during the Forum, either in the morning or in the afternoon session.
  • In the previous phase of the WSFM, You must compromise yourself in a fixed and constant schedule

The last day to sign up to be a volunteer is on August 11th


Rights of the volunteers

  • Insurance of the volunteer according to the establishment in the Law of Volunteering 6/1996.
  • Accreditation of volunteering
  • Necessary training to carry out the activities.
  • Certification of participation as volunteer.
