The III World Social Forum on Migrations has finished today, September 14th, with a mass audience demonstration that demanded an end to walls that prevent migrants from exercising their human rights. In the protest, which took place between Lagazpi and Atocha at 12 o’clock in the afternoon, representatives from the main union powers, the left wing political party, the Regional Federation of the Association of Neighbours (FRAV), as well as migrant and human rights associations were present.   More...

Political activists of social organizations of more than 90 countries will unite their voices with citizens from all over Spain in the streets of Madrid, denouncing the rise of physical, judicial, and social walls which impede the free circulation of people. It will be a symbolic close to the Third World Social Forum on Migrations, which will take place in Rivas the 11th, 12th, and 13th of September.   More...

The Third World Social Forum on Migration will be the stage where social organizations and citizens can debate about alternative migrant policies. As an aperitif, the Local Authority Forum will take place in Rivas Vaciamadrid on the 10th of September 2008. Here, Mayors coming from all five continents of the world will come together to reaffirm their commitment to Human Rights and citizenship of immigrants.   More...
